چکیده

Introduction At anti-aging medical institutions, clinicians assess the degree of aging by determining functional ages, including muscular, vascular, neural, hormone and bone ages, while identifying risk factors for accelerated aging, such as immune stress, oxidative stress, mental and physiological stress, glycative stress and poor lifestyle 1, 2). Aging is accompanied by various degenerative changes of skin. The degree of skin aging is determined by assessing wrinkle age (increase in wrinkles), freckle age (freckles and discoloration), moisture age (decreased moisture retention), skin elasticity age (decreased skin elasticity) and glycation age (increased accumulation of advanced glycation end products [AGEs]). Photoaging (oxidative stress) has been reported to account for about 70% of the causes of skin aging 3), but it is increasingly overcome by the use of ultraviolet (UV) skin care and anti-oxidative products. Meanwhile, there is an increasing prevalence of lifestyle-related diseases, such as obesity and diabetes. These conditions are associated with high glycative stress 4 ) (Fig. 1). Glycative stress will become increasingly important as a nonphotoaging risk factor for skin aging. This article focuses primarily on the roles of elastin, a component protein of skin, in photoaging and glycative stress. A dietary supplement improves facial photoaging and skin sebum, hydration and tonicity modulating serum fibronectin, neutrophil elastase 2, hyaluronic acid and carbonylated proteins.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS Excessive exposure to the sun can cause severe photoaging as early as the second decade of life resulting in a loss of physiological elastic fiber functions. We designed a first study to assess differences in facial skin pH, sebum, elasticity, hydration and tonicity and serum levels of fibronectin, elastin, neutrophil elastase 2, hyaluronic acid and carbonylated proteins bet...

Involvement of TGF-beta in Skin Photoaging

The goal of this thesis study was to understand the role of TGF-3 in skin photoaging, especially in solar elastosis. Solar elastosis, the accumulation of elastotic material in the dermal extracellluar matrix, is a major hallmark of photoaging. However, the mechanisms by which UV radiation causes solar elastosis are poorly understood. TGF-3 is a multifunctional cytokine involved in the regulatio...

A review on nutrition and skin aging

Background: Skin reflects the general health status and is not an exception in the process of aging. Intervention studies indicate that it is possible to delay skin aging and improve skin conditions through diet-based anti-aging strategies. The purpose of the current work was to review recent existing literature regarding the role of nutrition, for and against skin aging processes.Method: This ...

Protective effect of porphyra-334 on UVA-induced photoaging in human skin fibroblasts

The significant increase in life expectancy is closely related to the growing interest in the impact of aging on the function and appearance of the skin. Skin aging is influenced by several factors, and solar ultraviolet (UV) irradiation is considered one of the most important causes of skin photoaging. The aim of this study was to examine the anti-photoaging role of porphyra-334 from Porphyra ...

Estrogen Receptor Is a Novel Therapeutic Target for Photoaging

One of the many harmful factors faced by the skin is solar UV radiation, which damages skin by inducing chronic low-grade inflammation through increased expression of proinflammatory cytokines, metalloproteinases (MMPs) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2). Estrogen receptors (ERs) and are ligand-dependent transcription factors that are expressed in skin, and an ER agonist has previously shown efficacy...
